Meet Lizzy Serflek....

Hi, I’m Lizzy — your Relaxation Expert, Neuro-Somatic DPT, and founder of JoyFul Movement.

I did all the “right” things to stay healthy… but my body was still exhausted, anxious, bloated, and breaking down in ways no doctor could explain.

My body was sending distress signals I didn’t even realize were stress.

It wasn’t broken—my nervous system was stuck in survival mode.

Now, I am on a mission to help women go from worn out and stretched thin → to calm, clear, and empowered, so they can stop surviving and start thriving.

The classes give me a chance to practice your simple drills that help me feel more grounded and present. After class I feel more centered and patient for the rest of the day. Each class helps build my toolbox of stress management tools to release tension from my body which is a great addition to things I already have been doing like yoga and meditation, etc. I like that the drills are short and simple to do, but have a big pay off in stress relief.

Lizzy’s work is truly something special. I went into the session not really knowing what to expect, but I left feeling incredibly grounded, calm, and energized all at once. Her approach to nervous system regulation, now combined with body work, is both gentle and powerful.

During the session, I felt deeply relaxed. Even though it’s not traditional bodywork, like massage, my body still felt noticeably looser and refreshed afterward! The effects lasted for days... I had my doubt about the Nervous System Body Work, but after my double mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy, both my lymphatic system and nervous system were struggling despite conventional physical therapy. I am amazed by my results after working with Dr Lizzy. I feel like I have found the missing link to better wellness this year and beyond. I experienced the nervous system reset modality with Lizzy over the busy holiday season. I didn’t know what to expect but Lizzy made me feel very comfortable and at ease with her energy during the session. I could feel energy moving mostly through my lower legs (I’m recovering an acute injury to my left leg and chronic stiffness to my right ankle and calf). During some of the time I could see colors-  mostly blue/ purple and one time a deep cranberry color swirling around in my minds eye. Other than these sensations I just noticed a sense of calm throughout my body and mind as Lizzy applied light pressure to various points on my body. I noticed I felt lighter and more centered right away. I had more rotational movement available in my spine and pelvis. Over the next several days I noticed I rebounded from stress back to my center more quickly than normal which is a really big shift for me. I definitely see the value in the experience- especially the improved stress resilience I had afterwards!

Neuro-Somatic intelligence is exactly what I've been looking for this last year! My daughter has been in talk therapy for 4 years with little success. My 9yo daughter used to have nightmares and call out in her sleep every night. Since using the techniques before bed, she no longer screams and wakes the house. We've enjoyed a week of peaceful nights which leads to more regulated days! Lizzy is incredibly kind and patient working with her. Her knowledge of the human body and its responses has made life bearable.
